Miniature Spotlight: Johnny Cooper

He's bringing sexyback...sorry, Texas back.

Anyone that can list Queen, Waylon Jennings and Sublime as their influences has the ability to catch my attention. An individual who has done this is Johnny Cooper of Wichita Falls, Texas. Cooper combines a mix of country, red dirt, acoustic and southern rock to produce a unique sound.


I stumbled upon his debut album on iTunes a few months ago and was seemingly taken aback by his voice and later by his writing. Ignition is Texas country and is rooted in a less restrained sound...thankfully.
