Review: Taylor Swift - Love Story

A nice little pop ditty
Love Story is the first single from Taylor Swift's upcoming sophomore offering, "Fearless". After the triple platinum success of her debut self titled album, it would definitely be an understatement to say that Swift has a lot to live up to.
Love Story is essentially that - a love story. However, one might wonder if Taylor actually took Shakespeare because Romeo Juliet, um, it's didn't end well. Actually, for me, Love Song is almost like Mary's Song with a fairy tale twist: "You were Romeo you were throwing pebbles/And my Daddy said stay away from Juliet".
While it is a little over produced in parts of the track, it also fails to cover Swift's vocal limitations. The subtle banjo is also just enough not to warrant a pop mix of the track.
Put simply, Love Story offers a strong melody and catchy hook and should be taken for what it is: a sweet catchy little ditty that will take over country radio and probably pop. While I was hoping to hear a little more diversity in the subject content from her upcoming album, Swift has definitely matured as as songwriter...arguably.
