Review: Taylor Swift - Love Story

A nice little pop ditty
Love Story is the lead single from Taylor Swift's upcoming sophomore album "Fearless". After the triple platinum success of her debut self titled album, it would most likely be an understatement to suggest that Swift has much to live up to.
Love Story is essentially a fine description of itself - a love story interlinked with a melody though one might wonder if Swift ever actually took Shakespeare in high school because rumor has it that Romeo and Juliet didn't end well. However, for Swift herself, the concept of the track isn't breaking any really ground. Love Song might be best compared to Mary's Song (Oh My My My)with a fairy tale twist: "You were Romeo you were throwing pebbles/And my Daddy said stay away from Juliet".
There is a minor issue of over production in segments of the track and it also fails to pad Swift's vocal limitations though that will unlikely have any effect on radio taking to it swiftly (bad pun).
Put simply, Love Story offers a strong melody and catchy hook. It should also be taken for what it is: a sweet catchy little ditty that will take over country radio and likely pop radio as well. While many were hoping for a little more diversity in terms of the subject content being delved into, it can be said Swift has an amazing knack for consistently delivering hook and melody hand in hand.
