Taylor Swift: No tattoos and a lack of flashing does a good role model make.
February 22nd 2008 14:36
Taylor Swift made a promise to get a tattoo when her debut album "Taylor Swift" hit double platinum status. So with over three million units moved later, where does this leave Miss Swift?
Apparently, this leaves Swift in limbo. Why you ask?
Swift comments. “I’m trying to figure out if [getting a tattoo] compromises being a role model or not...My mom says it doesn’t, but my dad says it does. So I’m just trying to figure out what to do.”
You must give a hand to Taylor Swift for knowingly taking her position as a role-model seriously. Swift openly acknowledges her fan base (a large percentage of who are impressionable tweens) and the ability that she has to influence them, both positively or negatively.
If other public individuals were more like this, would parents have to worry just a little less about the public personas that their children look up to and gauge their habits, interests and style from? Just a thought.
