Taylor Swift: Tattoos and a Lack of Flashing Does a Good Role Model Make.
February 22nd 2008 14:36
So Taylor Swift made a promise to get a tattoo when her first record, Taylor Swift, hit double platinum status. So, two million units moved later, where does this leave Miss Swift?
Apparently, this leaves Swift in limbo. Why?
Swift comments, commented. “I’m trying to figure out if [getting a tattoo] compromises being a role model or not...My mom says it doesn’t, but my dad says it does. So I’m just trying to figure out what to do.”
What can I say? I am twenty years old with tattoo...a very subtle one at that on the back of my neck ( a cross...go Catholic guilt!). I have nothing against tattoos in good taste, hell, one of my guilty favorites, Kelly Clarkson has five subtly placed around her body. Placed tastefully, and not tackily. On other other side of the spectrum, you have Melanie Griffith who just looks cheap and nasty.
However, I have to give a hand for Taylor Swift for taking her position as a role-model seriously. She acknowledges her fan base (a large percentage of who are tweens) and the ability that she has to influence them, either positively or negatively.
So, a high five to Miss Swift for not flashing her private parts, for not drinking like a fish and for not humping a token attractive male in your music videos.
