This afternoon in between classes I was taken aback by Eric Church's "Lightning." "Lighting" is both understated and complex, force feeding the listener a succinct image of a man walking to his death. With the image in my head for the rest of the afternoon, while slightly disturbing (an execution), I walked around astounded by how vivid that image became as the hours drew on.
It's now eight at night and while I have moved on, it still amazes me how lost one can become in a song...and how much I adore the shuffle function on my iPod.
